Taş Bahçe has two beautiful stone buildings sharing a fragrant garden. The buildings are made of local “Sarımsak Stone”, a stone renowned for its stength and beauty used to build mosques, churches, villages and grand houses all the way rom the Middle East to the Balkans during the Ottoman Empire. Our stone carver, Esat, has given life to these historic stones, with carvings of artichokes, vines, and olive branches. Our architect has carefully designed the buildings to ensure all modern creature comforts but still maintain the air of old Cunda when Greeks and Turks lived together, in harmony. When you enter, you may think you have just traveled in time, and find refuge in the coolness of the stone building. You will love the wooden stairs that lead to the second floor, the colorful window on the staircase and the white wooden ceiling, all reminiscent of old Cunda. Almost all the furniture are restored antiques, the arm chairs have stories 100 years old…As you enter your room, the air will be fragrant, of soap we use to wash and clean, the calming cream colors of the room will welcome you, you will take a seat on your bed.
